Located in Madrid’s vibrant Chueca neighborhood, Mad Mad Vegan offers a lively and modern ambiance to go with their plant-based dishes. Specializing in American-style fast food, their menu features a variety of vegan burgers, tacos, and sides.
I think their signature vegan burger is the top choice on the menu. The plant-based patty they use tastes very much like meat, yet there is an organic depth to it that lets you know it’s simultaneously and proudly vegan. It also washes down perfectly with one of their refreshing craft beers.
Mad Mad Vegan stands out for its commitment to plant-based fast food, offering a diverse menu that caters to both vegan and non-vegan patrons. It can get pretty busy at peak times, so if you want to slow down to savor your meal, I recommend coming early.

Pizzi & Dixie is a rare vegan Italian restaurant and pizzeria in Madrid’s Malasaña neighborhood. They offer a trendy and modern ambiance to go with their menu of plant-based Italian dishes, including pizzas and pastas.
When I stopped in for a casual supper, I was blown away by their truffle pizza. The crust had a depth of flavor that went perfectly with the earthiness of the truffle. The scratch-made tiramisu I had for dessert almost overshadowed it with the robust marriage of dark chocolate and Spanish coffee.
Pizzi & Dixie’s is especially busy on weekends. If you plan to visit from Friday evening on, I recommend getting a reservation at least a day in advance.

You’ll find El Invernadero in Madrid’s Chamberí district, where they offer an upscale, elegant dining experience with a bohemian vibe. The menu is the brainchild of renowned chef Rodrigo de la Calle and focuses largely on vegetable-centric haute cuisine.
My last experience there was a special occasion tasting menu that highlighted seasonal vegetables. It gave me a true taste of the terroir of the agricultural lands surrounding the Spanish capital.
El Invernadero has been recognized as the best vegetable restaurant in the world by the Green Guide 2024 for their excellence in plant-based fine dining. This has also made them very popular, so reservations are an absolute must if you expect to get a table at a fashionable time.

Within walking distance of Tirso de Molina, La Oveja Negra has a rustic and welcoming ambiance. This 100% plant-based restaurant offers a variety of vegan dishes, including tapas and flavorful dinner entrees.
I last visited them for an elevated tapas experience and was blown away by their vegan tortilla and croquetas. They had an earthy richness to them that was perfectly balanced by the bright crispness of the Albariño wine.
La Oveja Negra can get busy at peak times, and they often require an advanced reservation to secure a table.
